Actually, if players are discriminating because of an accent, it's not racism, but ethnicism (not really a word, but I'm sure it conveys the right thoughts) rather. Race is not defined by color, but by skull shapes, skeletal proportions, facial features, hair texture, and whatnot. This misconception could probably be traced back to the fact that "negro" means black in Spanish, which the N word is derived from. But as I said, race is about said defining traits of a particular race in a species that distinguishes it from the other races--NOT skin pigment.
