So, in all our debates regarding Running & Gunning vs. Campers, I was curious ... how would Rambo play COD?
I think he would play a mixed style. If someone can show that Rambo would play no other way than what they think he would do, I'll mark your answer correct. But in the mean time, here's a collage of Rambo techniques ...
Rambo doing the Run & Gun ...
Rambo successfully flanking a stupid camper ...
Rambo quick scoping with a sniper rifle ...
Rambo operating a streak reward ...
oh wait! That's Rambo playing BF, not COD!!!
Here's one of Rambo with the Maniac streak reward ...
Rambo camping with an LMG ...
Rambo frigging corner camping! What a loser!
Can you prove Rambo would play the way you play?
Edit -
WARNING: Contained within this Edit is a SPOILER to something you may not know. Therefore, consider this your SPOILER ALERT WARNING!!!!
Wow. You guys gave some awesome responses as to how Rambo would do it. I have to admit, Starbuck caught the only real Rambo flaw - Rambo cried (in the book upon which the movie is based, something worse than crying happens ... [SPOILER ALERT] ... Rambo actually dies in the hardware store. Rambo flopped in theaters. However, it enjoyed a huge cult following and, because of that, became a financial windfall for the studio. So successful that the studio went back to the author of Rambo, the book, and pretty much forced him to bring Rambo back to life. If you ever get to read, Rambo: First Blood, Part II, at least early printings of the novel, definitely read the forward by Morrell. At the time he was NOT happy about having to bring Rambo back from the dead and thought it was rather silly. Nonetheless, Rambo was/is one tough dude.
Anyway, enough of the history of Rambo. Here's the thing: we all have our icons we try to emulate or mimic or duplicate or in some way, imagine ourselves to be just like. But we also do that with people we see or hear. Rambo is one of the most common analogies we make in the forums to players who think their doo-doo smells like roses.
And that's why I'm going to call Starbuck's response the winner. Starbuck out-Rambo'd me. I kind of thought that maybe being compared to Ramob was not so bad because Rambo probably wouldn't cry and whine as much as the player's we tend to compare him to. Well, as Starbuck points out - even Rambo cried.
So there. Being called Rambo in the forums means you really do deserve to be called a whiny cry-baby.
As for Helpfuls ... man. That was a really hard decision. But I think the Helpfuls I've marked speak for themselves. Gambit's Rambo trying to escape an IED 100% applies to COD: Ghosts. And so does DocChoi's hiding from the Helo Scout is also 100% COD: Ghosts. But DocChoi's automatic health regeneration is universal across all CODs.
All the other Rambo comments and clips could also have been winners ... but the point here is that there is always that one little something that puts the winner over the non-winners.
Thanks for participating guys!
