Yes they both countered each other the difference here is Dead Silence does not cancel out Amplify and there is no other counter for Amplify that's what everyone's gripe is. Dead Silence shouldn't even have a counter to be honest cause a good player can use vision or sight or seeing to counter Dead Silence a way better counter then crouch walking. Either Amplify needs a nerf or Dead Silence needs to be 100% silent. Amplify isn't even needed in this game I can hear people with out it. One way to nerf Amplify is to remove the filter making everything louder then footsteps or they can reduce the range and remove the ability to hear through walls.
